Interim Developer

Job Introduction

The Developer will be responsible for the timely delivery of a technical solution for deploying Data Science data and signals via API and the Excel plugin that will connect to it. They will report directly to the Head of Data Science, and will work closely with both Technologists and the Investment Floor, so excellent communication skills are essential.

The role will suit individuals that are flexible, creative, enjoy solving complex data and architecture problems. The right candidate will be results orientated, have a no-nonsense approach, and enjoy being part of a neurodiverse and high performing team.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Design, build, and implement data protocols and standards for delivering data from both on premise and cloud systems via API.
  • Design, test, and integrate an Excel plugin.
  • Maintain development standards and procedures.
  • Support the Head of Data Science, IT & Security to define, develop and deliver a proportionate data management architecture and capability for the business, in-line with objectives.

The Ideal Candidate

  • The candidate must have proven relevant development experience gained as a Developer, Programmer or equivalent.
  • .NET and SQL skills with experience working with both relational (Microsoft SQL Server) and non-relational databases, and familiarity with a variety of databases and datasets.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of handling large datasets.
  • Previous experience of the Azure platform.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and Git principles.
  • Experience of working in Asset Management, as well as knowledge and/or interest of fund management industry (desirable).
  • Exposure and understanding of Data Management and Data Governance.
  • Team player.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • A technology enthusiast, who is intellectually curious and loves solving problems.
  • Ability to understand and resolve complex or ambiguous requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure, give realistic estimates, and work to deadlines.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Educated to first degree level or equivalent industry / technical experience.
