Interim Trading Operations Analyst

Job Introduction

The Trading Operations Team is part of the wider Trading and Derivatives Operations Team, which is responsible for post trade activities across all asset classes.
Trading Operations is primarily responsible for the management and oversight of the matching and settlement processes for listed equities, fixed income and foreign exchange trading.
Trades are primarily matched via CTM and SWIFT with direct connectivity with Aladdin to allow oversight of the progress of each trade. Aladdin also connects to Jupiter’s Custodians and Fund Administrators via SWIFT to communicate trading and settlement activity.

Role Responsibility

  • Monitor automated trade queues and manual trade confirmations.
  • Monitor dealing desk trade queues.
  • Manage trade exceptions until matched.
  • Monitor and manage trade files to Custodian & Third Party Administrators within agreed deadlines.
  • Review failed trades.
  • Review causes of non-settlements and take appropriate remedial action to resolve.
  • Review error reports and interest claims implementing remedial action as appropriate.
  • Liaise with Jupiter’s Dealing Desk with regard to trade queries.
  • Liaise with Custodians to resolve settlement issues.
  • Liaise with Brokers to resolve trade queries.
  • Respond to queries from Custodians, Brokers and Internal Clients giving accurate and timely information.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience/Skills Required

• Experience of CTM.
• Experience of Blackrock Aladdin essential.
• Knowledge of Blackrock BQL desirable.
• Experience of matching various asset classes, including but not limited to equity, fixed income and FX.
• Experience of liaising with internal and external contacts to secure information and achieve objectives.
• Excellent relationship building/maintenance skills.
• A good working knowledge of relevant FCA Rules with a willingness to learn more detailed rules required for the role.
• A strong team player who is proactive and willing to take ownership of issues and follow them through to resolution.
• Ability to prioritise work and meet very tight deadlines.
• Experience of maintaining good quality records.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
