Senior Accountant

Job Introduction

The candidate will be responsible for the accounting of the operating entities including transfer pricing and treasury. In addition, this role will be general ledger systems expert. In addition, they will be responsible for managing the cost teams including the purchase ledger. The team consists of 2 accountants, one purchase ledger manager and one purchase ledger administrator.

We require a candidate with excellent core accounting skills, who has the ability to manage and organise a team to deliver high quality accounts in a timely manner.

Role Responsibility

Management of cost accounting team, ensuring that transactions are accounted for correctly in the ledger for all group companies. This includes the management of a number of core processes, including:

  • Accruals / Prepayments
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations – monthly sign off (including all bank recs)
  • Intercompany reconciliations and intercompany settlement management
  • Month-end close and review and analysis of group cost base
  • Completion of statutory accounts for external reporting
  • Managing subsidiary timetable
  • Liaising with auditors on all queries
  • Manage monthly payroll ledger entries and associated reconciliations
  • Support international expansion and foreign office finance processes, including local bank accounts / new entity openings
  • Central point for all cost related queries
  • Management of VAT processes and associated postings
  • Unlocking efficiencies of Finance ERP including processes for the wider department

Treasury function including managing bank mandates and daily cash reporting and liaising with other teams to meet regulatory requirements

Transfer Pricing entries and management of policy implementation

Accounts payable responsibilities include:

  • Management of purchase ledger processes for all invoice, expense payments and corporate card submissions
  • Checking and authorising weekly invoice and expense payment runs
  • Maintenance of approval limits on invoice and expense processing system
  • Ensuring all creditor balances are cleared and up to date
  • Authorisation of all associated balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, including bank reconciliations

Qualifications Required:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) 2+ years qualified
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
